Regarding the recent discovery of a racially-charged hate crime, the Whitetopper echoes, uplifts, and supports the anti-racist values of Emory & Henry.

The Whitetopper, as an impartial news source for the E&H campus and community, stands with the college and echoes its values in condemning the recent discovery of a racially-charged hate crime marker in a bathroom in Miller Hall.

Any community member wishing to share information regarding the perpetrator is encouraged to do so by contacting Campus Police, Dean of Students Tracey Wright, or Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion John Holloway. Additionally, anonymous tips can be submitted through the LiveSafe app.

As President John Wells said in a statement regarding the situation, “Those who spread hate should know that we will never be dissuaded from our mission of being a safe and inclusive community, committed to justice and the value and dignity of every person.”
