Sheaves, Meade Leading Wasps

The E&H Women’s tennis team opened spring season this past weekend with a match vs UVA-Wise.

On Saturday, the Wasps took on UVA-Wise. Kala Curtis was not able to pick up a win, losing 6-0, 6-0. Bri Pierce picked up a big win at four singles. She won 7-6, 6-3. Ellington King took a 6-1, 6-4 loss at five singles. E&H also had six singles forfeited to them. In the doubles, the duo of Katie Meade and Kaitlyn Sheaves took a tough shutout loss at one double. and Kaitlyn Sheaves took a tough shutout loss at one double. The Wasps also had three doubles forfeited to them.

The Wasps will look to get on the winning track at home on Saturday, March 10th vs #12 Washington and Lee University. The Wasps will have two-sport athlete Tessa Johnston back on Saturday for her first match of the spring season. Washington and Lee comes into Saturday ranked #12 in the nation sitting at 7-2 on the season, and coming off a loss to #17 Sewanee.
