The Emory & Henry College Cheerleading Team took the floor in its first-ever competition Saturday at the CHEERSPORT Knoxville Grand Championship. The event was held at the Knoxville Convention Center.
The Wasps won first place in the International Open Small Coed Level 6 division, winning Grand Champion honors. E&H scored an 80.8 out of 83.3 possible points, a 96.998%.
Emory & Henry is led by first year head coach Kandee Wallace, a 2014 graduate of UVA-Wise, Wallace is very happy with this being the first ever cheer competition in school history. The Wasps will continue to practice and get ready for the next competition on the schedule at Cheer Ltd. Nationals at CANAM in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina over the weekend of Friday, March 16 through Sunday, March 18. Coach Wallace is very pleased with the way the cheer team has battled adversary and also injury during the cheer season this far.
