The Emory & Henry Men’s Basketball team ended their 2016-201717 season with a heartbreaking loss in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championship against Guilford College. With the start of the new season right around the corner, the Wasps were chosen to finish fourth in the 20172018 season by the coaches.

The Wasps finished second to Guilford college in the regular season last year and are looking to keep the winning ways up. Starting with two new excellent additions to the coaching staff.

Matt Galloway recently graduated from Virginia Tech, playing on their basketball team for three years, and coaching some over the summer, and Ronrico White who played as a captain for the University of Tennessee Chatanooga basketball team for three years and holds several records in their program.

For the team itself, Coach David Willson has now added six new players to help lead them to another 20 win season. Daniel Spencer who is the only transfer, and comes from Belmont Abbey College comes in as a sophomore, the first years are Tharon Suggs is from Raleigh, NC. Dylan Felty is from Bristol, VA. Felty played at local John Battle high school. Ethan Roache is from Wellington, New Zealand, traveling the furthest that any player comes from this season. Cameron Kestner is from Chilhowie, VA, just 10 minutes down the road from Emory & Henry. Finally Robby Medley from Bristol, VA. Medley played at local Virginia High.

The Wasps will now start their season on November 15th against Sewanee in Georgia and play at home against Maryville on the 18th of November. Coming off a great season last year, the team looks to be lead by the ODAC rookie of the year in 2016-2017, Colin Molden and their four seniors, Johnny McLean, John Shelor, Chase Branscomb, and Noah Walker.
