Encounter is a student-led worship experience held in the back of the sanctuary of Memorial Chapel on Monday nights from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
This experience includes prayer, Scripture reading, worship songs, and a message from a speaker. In the past, speakers have included fellow students, area pastors, professors, and Vice President John Holloway. Following Encounter, there is a time of fellowship over light snacks. This time of worship and fellowship encourages faith formation by gathering believers together to encourage one another and provide support.
Student Nathan Krauss says, “I really enjoy Encounter because of how inclusive everyone is. The people there are friendly to everyone, and make you feel at home. I feel like I can be myself!” Encounter is sponsored by the spiritual life group, Kerygma.
