The Emory & Henry Women’s Swim Team traveled to Sewanee, Tennessee, for the first meet of the season, for the 17th Annual Sewanee Invitational.
This two-day event began Friday evening where freshman Sarah Helfert took fourth in the 1,650-yard freestyle. E&H was fourth in 100-yard medley relay.
Sophomore Olivia Anson and senior Bri Chessok placed fourth and fifth in the 100yard individual medley. Senior Mackenzie Lingle placed fourth in the 50-butterfly.
Collectively the team placed fourth in the 100-yard freestyle relay on Friday evening.
To begin Saturday, Emory & Henry was fourth 200-yard medley relay. Senior Mackenzie Lingle competed in 5 events throughout the weekend, taking two third place, a fourth place, and two fifth place.
Olivia Anson and Bri Chessok each competed in three events those included: 100-yard individual medley, 50-freestyle, 100-yard butterfly,100-yard backstroke, and 100-yard freestyle.
Senior Holly Roth finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle and freshman Brittany Archer took fifth in the 200-yard butterfly. E&H finished the meet placing second in the 200-yard freestyle relay.
During the weekend, the Women’s Swim team racked up 566 points, placing them at third behind Emmanuel College and Sewanee.
Friday, November 11, the E&H swim team will host Bridgewater college for the dual portion of their season, the meet will begin at 6pm.
