Sophomore Forward Ashley Love out of Zirconia, North Carolina has been a major asset for the Wasps Women’s Soccer team. Her heart for the game is shown in the work she puts in, Love says “ I try to be a positive example for everyone on the team, I come to every practice and game with a good attitude, and try to create a fun atmosphere. I work my hardest to represent the team and Emory & Henry to the best of my ability.”
Racking up 1 of 2 goals scored in the win against Randolph a piece of advice given to her may have had an impact on her success, “Never leave the field wishing you had done something differently. Leave knowing you gave it everything you had in you & did your best. Your best is all you can do.” says Ashley, who proves to leave it all on the field having a total of 7 points in her career at E&H. On top of the stellar advice given to her, Love says her mom is her biggest motivator, “she knows my potential and expects nothing less of me”.
The Wasps Women’s Soccer team has had a bit of a rocky season, with a record of 3-7-1, but Love believes “every game is different and should be prepared for differently.” Coming off a 10-0 win against Sweet Briar on Saturday, this could give the Women’s Soccer team the momentum they will need to carry out the remainder of the season. Ashley and the rest of the Women’s Soccer team will travel to Hollins Wednesday October 11th for an ODAC matchup.
