The Emory & Henry College Women’s Soccer Team took to the pitch for a slew of games this past week.
Last Wednesday, the Wasps traveled to North Carolina to take on the Pride of Greensboro College. The Wasps struggled all night, losing by a score of 5-0. Greensboro scored three goals in the second half to seal the win over the Wasps. The Wasps only mustered six shots, five of which were on goal. Senior goalkeeper Kayla Wright played the entire match for the Wasps, tallying eight saves.
After a quick turnaround, the Wasps played again Friday evening at Brevard College. The Wasps traveled to take on the Tornados, coming up short and losing 3-0. The individual leaders for the Wasps consisted of freshman Skylar Wall and senior Kayla Wright. Wall led the team with two shots while Wright played another 90 minutes, posting eleven saves.
The Wasps were originally planned to have three games in five days. It was scheduled that the Wasps would host Penn State-Worthington Scranton on Sunday, September 17th. However, the game was canceled so the Wasps will not play again until this Wednesday, September 20th when they travel to take on the Panthers of Ferrum College. The Wasps were victorious over the Panthers last season. Kickoff is set for 6:00 P.M.
