The Wasps were at home this past weekend hosting a pair of games, looking to get back on the winning track.
The Wasps played Southern Virginia Knights (2-2) on Friday. The Wasps would come out hot to take an early lead in the 5th minute with a header by Tyequis Stallins assisted by Will Rimer. After a quick start by the Wasps, the Knights would answer back with three goals of their own in the 20th, 36th, and 47th minutes to make the lead three to one at the half. Coming out of the half the Wasps would score quickly with a goal by Andrew Kincaid in the 53rd minute. The Knights would eventually run away with the game, adding goals in the 79th and 86th minutes. E&H would fall to (3-3) on the season.
After three straight losses, the Waps would look to get a win against Anderson University Ravens on Saturday. The Ravens would take the lead in the 22nd minute. That would be the only goal by either team until the Ravens would increase their lead in the 80th minute. Late in the game the Wasps would score on a shot by Jordan Couch. Despite the late goal,the Ravens would hang on to win the game two to one. Emory & Henry would fall to 3-4 on the year.
Emory & Henry will take a much needed break, before opening up Old Dominion Athletic Conference play at home against Virginia Wesleyan (5-1) on Saturday, September 23rd at 3:00 p.m.
