The Women’s Volleyball team grasped their first ODAC conference win Sunday afternoon, when they beat Shenandoah with a nail biting win of 3-2. E&H came out strong, winning the first set 25-21. In  the 5th the Wasps stung the Hornets to seal the win after a challenging battle.

Right side-hitter Tori Holmberg racked up 18 kills and 9 digs, to lead the team in those categories. While, junior middle Rebecca Morehouse hit for a .306 percentage, senior Ali Singleton with the double-double (14 kills, 14 digs), and setter Sam McCauley with 48 assists, averaging almost 10 per set.

Coach Bayes says this game was the first time they “fought together, played together, and learned to win together.”

The Wasps Volleyball team has had a rocky start but this could be the driving factor for the remainder of the season. With the away game at Hollins on Wednesday, Coach Bayes hopes the momentum and the chemistry building throughout the team will help gain another in conference defeat on Wednesday at Hollins University’s home court.
