The Emory & Henry College Women’s Tennis Team lost their match this on Sunday, Feb. 26 against Milligan College by a total score of 8-1.
The Wasps traveled to Milligan College and returned to E&H with a current record of 2-3, with no matches yet competed in ODAC play.
The Wasps were defeated in all three of the doubles matches. Seniors Lauren Riner and Savanna Summers started off the match with an 8-2 loss as the first-seeded doubles team. Sophomore Liz Graham and junior Bri Pierce took a tough 8-3 loss as the second seed. Sophomores Kaitlyn Sheaves and Katie Meade also lost as the third seed, by a final score of 8-3. The Wasps however were able to win one match in singles. Pierce earned the lone win for the Wasps, winning the fifth-seeded singles match by a final of 6-2, 3-6, 10-5. Riner fell as the Wasps one seed, 6-1, 7-6. Graham played in a great match at two singles for the Wasps. She fell, 6-2, 3-6, 10-7. Summers went down, 6-2, 6-3, in her singles match as the third seed. Junior Kala Curtis took a 6-1, 6-2, loss as the fourth-seed. First-year Kelsey Holt played as the sixth-seed, but fell, 6-0, 6-2.
The Team will return Lagrange on March 17.
