Mayweather v. McGregor

Mayweather v. McGregor. The fight that could shift the century, and yet the fight that everyone wants to witness might actually be closer to reality.
According to reports from The Irish Sun, Ultimate Fighting Championship superstar Conor McGregor and unbeaten boxing champion Floyd Mayweather have finally agreed to terms on a mega-fight.

Representatives for McGregor’s team have reached a deal with Mayweather’s camp in recent days. The agreement has yet to be signed due to a “third party hold-up.” The Sun reported that McGregor pulled out of a scheduled event in Dublin to head to Las Vegas to help finalize the massive deal.

Fees have been a topic of controversy regarding this fight and both fighters have been unable to come to a conclusion. A source close to McGregor told The Sun, “Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather have agreed a deal to fight and have both settled on their respective fees.”

The fight could be announced within the next two weeks.
Per an ESPN report, the Nevada State Athletic Commission chairman Anthony Marnell confirmed Tuesday that “real discussions” in making this fight happen have truly taken place.

By the looks of it, there seems to be a lot of real negotiations going on. Marnell said, “There is a lot of real stuff going on. It still seems like a long shot, but when there is a lot of money involved; people tend to figure it out. There are a lot of cooks in the kitchen, but I’m not sure if we’re going to eat.”

But it all still seems like things are up in the air. For months there has been talk about this fight, yet nothing has truly come about it.

Marnell stated, “We are aware of conversations and information that has been disclosed and not disclosed in the media. Whether these conversations will get to a point that a fight happens, I can’t tell you.”

Whether this fight will happen, no one truly knows. One thing for sure is that there is genuine talk going on in trying to make this potentially record breaking fight happen.
