Who is this team then? This team is the Charlotte Hornets. In the duration of the NBA offseason the Charlotte Hornets were not looking to spend or widen their franchise. Instead, they aimed to bring back all of their players from the previous year. The Hornets wanted to build something special. In doing this, the Hornets made an emphasis on creating new contracts for Nicolas Batum, Marvin Williams, and Cody Zeller. A combined $230.5 million was spent to ensure these key players stayed put. When one talks about Charlotte, the name Kemba Walker is hard to ignore. Many have been speculating Walker as the Steph Curry of the East due to his jawdropping performances early in the season. His confidence protrudes greatly as he steps on the court, and by averaging 25.8 points and 5.5 assists per game he certainly has the right to be confident. Walker is also shooting 47.8 percent from 3 on nearly seven attempts a game. Needless to say he’s the leader.

Cody Zeller has stepped up to the challenge this year. With his drive and mid-range shooting game at a peak, Zeller has proved that he is the type of franchise player that Charlotte needs. When Zeller, Williams, and Kemba are on the floor together, the Hornets have a net rating of plus-12.5. This is one of the best figures in the league among three man line-ups. With the speed and playmaking in their front court and their length and athleticism on the wings, it is safe to say that the Hornets have the ability to make a big statement this year.
